Custom Murphy Beds in College Grove, TN

You moved out here for the space. We help you use it. Custom hardwood Murphy beds designed at your kitchen table, built in our Middle Tennessee shop, and installed at your place, whether that's a new build in The Grove or a farmhouse off Highway 31A.

The College Grove Standard

We Come to Your Home in College Grove

College Grove sits far enough south that most furniture and cabinetry companies treat it as an afterthought. The showrooms are up in Cool Springs or Nashville. Delivery windows get vague. And if you order a wall bed online, the box shows up at the end of a long driveway and the rest is your problem.

We work differently, and College Grove is exactly the kind of place our model was built for. There's no showroom to drive to because the consultation happens at your home, where the room actually is. We measure in person, we look at your finishes in your light, and the price we quote covers the whole thing: design, hardwood build, delivery, and installation, with the unit leveled and anchored to your studs by the same people who built it. Since 2014 we've been doing this all over Middle Tennessee, and the drive down 840 to College Grove is a normal Tuesday for us, not a special trip.

One more thing worth saying plainly: we come back if you ever need us. When your builder is a local shop and not a shipped product, the relationship doesn't end at delivery.

Homes Around College Grove

Every Bed Solves a Real Problem in a Real Room

We don't sell models off a shelf. Every project starts with a free visit to your Franklin home, where we look at the actual space and talk through what you're trying to fix. Maybe it's a guest room that sits empty most of the year, an office you wish could host your in-laws, or a bonus room that's become a catch-all. Here's the range of what we build:

Custom Murphy Beds

Twin, full, queen, and king, in horizontal or vertical layouts. We match your trim color, your cabinetry, and your stain so the finished unit reads as a built-in instead of a piece of furniture parked against the wall.

Murphy Bed with Desk

A genuine working desk that folds out when you need to work and tucks away when family comes to town. It's the answer for the office that has to double as a guest room, which in Franklin is most of them.

Murphy Bed with Sofa

A sitting room by day, a real bedroom by night. The sofa stays put while the bed comes down over it, so a bonus room can finally pull double duty without looking like it's trying to.

Murphy Bed with TV & Media Console

TV panel, shelving, and cable management built right into the unit. Good fit for a media room or a finished basement that occasionally needs to put up overnight guests.

Murphy Bed with Table

A table that folds down out of the cabinet, built for studios, casitas, and smaller footprints where one wall has to do the work of two rooms.

Custom Cabinetry & Add-Ons

LED task lighting, USB charging ports, soft-close drawers, pantry-style storage, and paint matched to your Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams colors, plus custom stains. The details are where a built-in earns its keep.

We Know These Homes

New Estates, Old Farmhouses, and Everything They Ask a Room to Do

College Grove is really two housing stories happening at once, and we build for both. The first is the wave of new construction: The Grove, Hardeman Springs, and the estate lots spreading along the 840 corridor. These are big homes with bonus rooms, flex spaces, and dedicated guest wings, often still deciding what they want to be. A custom Murphy bed with a desk or sofa lets a room commit to two jobs at once, which is exactly what a new house with more square footage than furniture needs.

The second story is the older one: farmhouses and acreage properties that have been here a lot longer than the golf course. These homes have guest situations the suburbs don't. Family stays for a week, not a night. There's a detached garage with a finished room above it, or a barn apartment, or a pool house that could sleep people if it had a real bed that didn't eat the whole floor. We've built for those spaces, and hardwood construction matters more out here, where a unit might live in a space with bigger temperature swings than a climate-controlled bonus room.

Both kinds of homeowners tend to ask us the same question: can it not look like an appliance? Yes. We match Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams paint colors and mix custom stains, so the cabinet reads as furniture that belongs to the house, whether the house is three years old or a hundred and three.

We love our Murphy bed design for our playroom. They designed in everything we asked for; nightstands,, shelves, lights, and even a toy box. We highly recommend Nashville Murphy beds if you want a high-quality product!

Common Questions

What College Grove Homeowners Ask Us

Do you really service College Grove, or is it an extra charge?

We really do, at no extra charge. College Grove, Arrington, Triune, Eagleville, and the rest of southern Williamson County are inside our normal service area. The consultation and the installation both happen at your home.

Can you put a Murphy bed in a detached space, like a pool house or a room over a garage?

Yes, and we do it regularly. The main things we check at the consultation are wall framing for anchoring, ceiling height, and how the space is conditioned, since that can affect finish choices. Hardwood handles those environments better than laminate panel products.

How long from first call to finished install?

Most projects take 4 to 8 weeks depending on design complexity and our build schedule. Install day itself is typically a single day.

Is the bed comfortable enough for week-long family stays?

Yes, because it's a real mattress, up to about 12 inches thick, on a hardwood frame built like a regular bed. Long stays are exactly the use case where the difference between a Murphy bed and a sleeper sofa becomes obvious.

Will it hold up to regular use, or is it just for occasional guests?

Ours are built for either. The frame is hardwood, the mechanism is rated for daily cycling, and the bed takes a standard mattress up to about 12 inches. Some wall bed makers note that their mechanisms wear faster under daily use. We build ours so you don't have to think about that.

Does a built-in Murphy bed add value to a College Grove home?

A hardwood unit anchored and finished into the room is generally treated like custom cabinetry by appraisers and buyers. In your market, where buyers expect finished, functional space, a real guest suite that doesn't sacrifice a room is a selling point. Freestanding retail wall beds are furniture and don't carry that value.
